The seven checks
None of these checks proves a seller is good. Together they filter out the ones that cannot answer a basic question, which is most of the risk for a first order.
Run them in order. If a seller fails at check three, the later checks do not matter.
- Album loads without a login wall and without a broken category tree
- At least three angles per listing, not one styled shot
- Replies with actual measurements when asked
- States a QC policy: how many photos, when, and what triggers a re-shoot
- Has a contact path that is not a dead WhatsApp link
- States return or exchange terms in writing
- Names the batch or version when several exist
Red flags that are easy to miss
A seller who answers every question with "1:1 best quality" and no measurements is not answering. A catalog where every listing uses the same three stock photos across different models is a reseller of renders. A price that is dramatically below every comparable album usually reflects a different material, not a better deal.
The quiet red flag is inconsistency: excellent photos for six listings and phone snapshots for the rest. That pattern suggests the seller is republishing another catalog and only shooting what they actually stock.
Keep the first order small and specific
One or two items, one seller, one shipping line. The goal is not to save money; it is to learn how the seller photographs, packs and communicates. A $60 test that reveals a bad packer is cheaper than a $400 haul that reveals the same thing.
Record what you learn: actual measurements against the listing, packaging condition, transit time, whether QC matched. That record is what makes the second order fast.
Quick answers
Are reviews reliable?
Partially. Look for reviews with measurements and photos, and discount ones that only say 'good quality'.
Should I use an agent for a first order?
Yes if the seller does not ship internationally. The agent's QC layer is also useful while you learn what to look for.
How long should a seller take to answer?
A day is normal. A week usually means the contact path is stale, which is itself a reason to look elsewhere.
